You can do arts and crafts with your pint in this Cork bar

Earlier this week we brought you news of a new knitting night in a Shandon bar.
Now we’re spotting a developing trend of crafty pub groups in Cork.
If you love to relax by using your hands and working on something creative, check out The Friary’s new Cardboard Club, which meets on Sunday, April 14th at 3pm.
The idea is to create a fun space where you can drop in and work on your own little project in the company of other like-minded DIY enthusiasts, artists and makers.
They say: ‘We are lucky to have among our regulars and new customers, a large amount of very creative and talented people. We thought that it would be a great idea to do something about it and to gather regularly, to be inspired and create together.’
We think it’s a brilliant way to take some time out of your daily routine, enjoy a pint or a coffee and meet new people.
The first meeting of the Cardboard Club happens this Sunday with Alice Gasqui leading the first workshop.
There will be an introduction and open discussion where everyone can share their ideas on projects everyone could work on together.
Everyone’s invited to bring a journal, sketchbook or favourite material to draw, paint or write for a few hours. Check out the event here or email algalisky@yahoo.fr to go along to the next one.
