The Georgian property, built in 1750, has all the class and elegance of times gone by, with all the 21st-century creature comforts we can’t live without, from luxurious beds and furniture to wifi, a gym, and a huge TV.

But it’s the magnificent conservatory annex, which opens out onto the side terrace, that has us dreaming of summer barbecues and fairytale dinner parties.

There’s even a heated 20m swimming pool and jacuzzi – ideal for soothing your weary muscles after those long country walks

The lovely village of Durrus is nearby (you’ll find pubs and shop here for supplies) and Bantry is a 15 minute drive away if you fancy a spin for the weekly fish and vegetable market.

With six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, as well as a self-contained cottage on the grounds, there’s plenty of space for up to 13 guests – the more the merrier to share the €1,150 nightly fee.
