Worried about climate change? Join a virtual Cork Townhall Meeting in November

Now is the time to have your say.
Cork citizens who are concerned about climate change have organised virtual Townhall meetings across the county this month.
Cork City’s event takes place this Monday, November 8th at 7.30pm, bringing together Cork North and South Central Constituencies, with further townhalls will taking place across the country as part of a nationally organised movement under the banner of One Future – The People’s Campaign for Faster and Fairer Climate Action.
The online event, which is open to all, is an opportunity to hear from and question TDs on the topic of ‘Climate Budget and Climate Action Plan; More Talk or Real Action?’
Attendees are encouraged to join the 90-minute meeting to demonstrate their support for urgent action to address the climate crisis. The facilitated meeting will be a forum for all TDs to address the topics, followed by a moderated Q&A session with attendees.
“There has been a sea change in public awareness around the need for climate action in the last three years,” says climate activist Rob Hamilton, who will chair the Cork City Townhall.
“However the urgency of the need for action is immense. It is vitally important that our TDs and representatives are made aware of how important this issue is to the people of Cork. This meeting will be your chance to make sure they know.”
The Town Hall meetings organised by One Future Cork will take place throughout November, with registration open now here.
