UPDATE: This competition is now closed. Winner: Chloe Long

Dig out a tablecloth and some decent china.

The Metropole Hotel has unveiled a takeaway version of its decadent Classic Afternoon Tea so fans can enjoy it at home while Covid-19 restrictions continue… and you could be enjoying it this weekend, on us!

One of Cork’s oldest hotels, opened in 1897, The Metropole is attempting to bring a touch of old school glamour to life in isolation.

If fresh scones with cream and jam, fancy sandwiches and baked goodies (all washed down with a big pot of tea or coffee) sounds like your idea of heaven, it’s high time you treated yourself.

You could set up a Zoom call with your besties and enjoy it together as part of a socially distant soirée, or gift an Afternoon Tea box to somebody special if their birthday falls during the lockdown.

We can’t think of a more delightful delivery to discover on the doorstep.

Available every Saturday and Sunday, the hotel’s Classic Afternoon Tea (€20 per person) can be collected between 1pm – 4pm on both days. Celebrating? Add a bottle of Prosecco from €15.

To order call 021 464 3700 or visit TheMetropoleHotel.ie.

WIN AFTERNOON TEA FOR FOUR: To enter, simply find the Facebook post and tag the three friends you’d share your Classic Afternoon Tea with. We’ll be picking the winner on Friday, May 15th, 2020.
