Why you should go to this outdoorsy May bank holiday nature day

It’s the May bank holiday already.
This time we’re determined to get some fresh air and sunshine before we hit the beer garden so this adorable event ticks all our boxes for Sunday, May 5th.
A fun day of healthy, nature-based activities is planned at Parkowen, just off Quaker Road in Cork City this Sunday, beginning at 2pm.
Organised by Green Spaces for health, there’ll be lovely outdoorsy activities to try out all day, with tips from nutritionist Sinead Loughnane before Luke from Cork Nature Network speaks about urban wild landscapes and invasive plant species.
Tina Horan will lead a fun exercise routine for both body and brain and a watercolorist will be giving a painting demonstration before a planting session in the spring sunshine.
Here’s the schedule for the day:
2pm: Talk on urban flora and fauna
2.40pm: Natural nutrition
3.30pm: Physical fun and botanical painting
4pm: Planting (bring some empty pots and containers to get stuck in)
4.30pm: Picnic
