Weekend Heatwave for Cork: Here’s everything Met Éireann is telling us so far

We’re in for a roasting few days.
Break out the barbecue and pop the rosé on ice because Met Éireann forecasters are finally giving us the news we’ve all been waiting for during the dull, drizzle-soaked days of early July.
Cork’s beaches are expected to be teeming with sun-seekers as an ‘Azores High’ sweeps Ireland, bringing Mediterranean temperatures of 25C and perhaps even higher by the end of the week.
Here’s the forecast in a nutshell:
- Tuesday: Dry and cloudy with some patchy drizzle in the morning. Sunny spells and temperatures of up to 23C later on in the day.
- Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with occasional sunny spells, the best of which will be in the southwest. Highest temperatures of 19C to 24C.
- Thursday: A warm dry day for most with sunny spells developing in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees, warmest in the south.
- Friday: Another warm day with better sunny spells though cloud will bubble up at times in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 20c to 25C.
The best news is the weekend is looking pretty tasty, weather-wise, too.
According to Met Éireann: “Current indications suggest that it will be very warm with long sunny spells while holding largely dry. Highest temperatures will widely be in the mid-twenties, possibly higher locally.
