Farewell to a Barracka’ favourite.
An award-winning restaurant on Barrack Street has closed its doors, after nearly five years in business.
The team behind Pigalle Kitchen, which was all about celebrating local produce, sustainable wines, and craft cocktails, took to social media to make the sad announcement on the future of the business.
The team said they “are so grateful” to have had the chance to do what they loved for so long, and are “extremely appreciative for the incredible support” they’ve had since they opened in 2019.
“To all of the staff past and present, thank you for being absolutely amazing, you will all be so fondly remembered,” the post read.
The message concluded with a poignant farewell: “Goodbye for now.”

The restaurant also highlighted on Facebook that vouchers can be brought into Tom Barry’s next door for a full refund or can be used in Tom Barry’s.
This is an emotional end to a culinary Cork gem, which was named as one of Ireland’s 100 best restaurants for 2023 by John and Sally McKenna, who said its food was “wonderfully sincere and pleasing”.
