WATCH: Santa arrives in Cobh by boat

He’s used to choppy conditions.
Santa Claus braved the bad weather yesterday afternoon in order to pay a visit to Kennedy Pier in Cobh, coming ashore via a pilot launch boat.
A video shared by the Port of Cork on Twitter shows Santa arriving in a rather unorthodox way to greet children from the local area, foregoing his reindeer for a new seafaring method of travel.
The tweet read: “Despite the bad weather, we were delighted to safely drop Santa Claus to Kennedy Pier in #cobh to say hello #hohoho to all the girls and boys. With the help of Mrs Claus from @CobhHarCham Santa is now making a list and checking it twice…”
The visit, organised by Cobh & Harbour Chamber, went down a storm with those who turned up to greet St. Nick.
Make sure to switch the sound on for the video below in order to really appreciate how bad the wind was for Santa’s journey. Let’s hope he has better luck on Christmas Eve.
