Wandering chef James Gabriel Martin is doing a little tour of epic dinners at these locations

Every summer deserves one extra special dinner.
If your ideal evening involves exceptional food, great stories and a spectacular setting, you’ll want to keep an eye on chef James Gabriel Martin’s upcoming West Cork dates.
The Dublin-born chef, photographer and writer is bringing his unique dining experiences to a number of cool locations across the county this July, with a series of intimate dinners inspired by landscape, local produce and the people behind the food.
Martin has carved out a distinctive career that blends food with storytelling. A former contributor to Lonely Planet, he now writes for publications including the BBC and Image Magazine, while his acclaimed online series Leviathan shines a spotlight on food producers, musicians and craftspeople around Ireland.

His cooking is shaped by years spent travelling as a journalist and documentary filmmaker, often exploring the connections between Ireland’s food culture, history and identity. The result is a dining experience that feels less like a restaurant meal and more like a story unfolding over several courses.
Cork food lovers will have three opportunities to experience his cooking this summer.
Upcoming dinners include:
• Saint Francis Provisions, Kinsale — July 14th
Two sittings at 6pm and 8.30pm
€65 per person
A specially selected wine list will accompany the menu
Bookings via email: hello@sfpkinsale.com
• Goleen Harbour — July 11th and 12th
Two sittings each evening at 6pm and 8.30pm
Part of the Leviathan project
Expect seasonal dishes inspired by the Wild Atlantic coast, local ingredients and communal dining
Book via goleenharbour.ie/events
• Special collaboration with Max Jones (@uptherethelads) — July 18th
This event will be held on secret location beach in West Cork, close to the Skibbereen area.
“In foul weather, we will host at the beautiful Grain Store in Clonakilty, or ther Booley in Leap.” say the organisers.
Tickets are €95 over here.
With long-table dining, thoughtful cooking and some of Cork’s most beautiful settings as the backdrop, these are the kind of summer food events that tend to sell out quickly so get booking to secure your seat.
