Priced out of a home of your own in Ireland?

RTÉ’s Cheap European Homes TV series is searching for young people who are considering purchasing a property in continental Europe to appear on the show.

Presenter Maggie Molloy helps buyers find their dream homes in European destinations like Portugal, France, Spain, Italy, Greece and is joined by comedian and co-host Kevin McGahern. The casting is looking specifically for young people – couples, families, or friends who are considering the move.

So how does it work? Participants decide the area in the European country which they would like to live in and give Maggie a budget to work with for the surrounding area. Maggie chooses several properties for the participants to see, discusses what they like or don’t like, and then reveals the price of each house in relation to their budget.

Kevin helps participants find community and immerse in the social aspect of moving from Ireland by introducing them to different individuals and groups, sports clubs and activities connected to their interests.

The show, now in its fourth season, follows on from Maggie’s original series Cheap Irish Homes, which helps prospective home owners find their dream homes at affordable prices in Ireland.

“Coming on the show is a fantastic opportunity to start the search for your dream European move, and we can take the pressure off by finding the right place for you,” said Maggie.

“For many young people, it might be their first experience of looking for a home, and our team helps you get comfortable with the dos and don’ts of property hunting.”

Maggie continued: “For many young people, the prospect of buying in Ireland is almost out of the question for several reasons, including the cost of living and house prices. For those reasons, our team is offering alternative housing options in European destinations which don’t break the bank and can give buyers their dream lifestyle.”
