Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
A clever group of local musicians delighted visitors to The Lough on Sunday afternoon with an impromptu jazz performance… all enjoyed from a safe distance.
The band members, Gary Baus on saxophone, Neil Murphy on guitar and Tim O’Leary on bass, set up in the driveway of Tim’s home on the street across the road from the popular walkway.
Like most musicians, the lads have been having a tough time of late; all three lost their scheduled gigs with the Brewhouse Jazz Band and the Art Crimes band because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Once the music began, walkers found a spot to sit on the grass across the road from the band, enjoying the live music in the autumn sunshine. The odd car passing between the audience and the band did nothing to dull the atmosphere.
Bass player Tim O’Leary told Yay Cork: “The response from everyone was really positive so I suppose we’ll just keep doing it every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm as long as the weather permits.”
