Not the most summery of weather.
Met Éireann’s Munster forecast for the week ahead is a wet one, unfortunately, with plenty of showers on the horizon between now and Friday.
Tomorrow (July 6th) we can expect that the showery rain over the western half of the province will extend to all areas. There will be further rain or showers at times through the afternoon and evening, but there will be some brighter intervals also.
On Wednesday, there’ll be a fair amount of cloud and outbreaks of rain or drizzle in the morning and some showers in the afternoon and evening . Some sunny intervals also, especially in the west later.
Thursday may offer a brief reprieve from the wet weather, with Met Éireann forecasting “mainly dry with bright or sunny spells. A few showers may develop in Ulster and Leinster. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light westerly or variable breezes.”
Friday is expected to be a rather plain Irish day: “mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain or drizzle in the west moving eastwards. Rainfall amounts will be quite small and there’ll be some brighter intervals also.”
The latest forecast follows a Status Yellow weather warning issued at the weekend which saw some minor flooding on some Cork streets.
