Two renowned sopranos will perform a free opera just for kids in Cork this weekend

It’s never too early to get them interested in music.
And whether you’re already an opera fan or you’re simply interested in hearing something new, there’s a brilliant little family-friendly event happening this weekend at Cork City Library on the Grand Parade.
Internationally renowned sopranos Majella Cullagh and Emma Nash will sing arias and duets for an audience of all ages, accompanied by pianist Tom Doyle in Opera for All, organised by Eventi Management as part of Children’s Book Fest on Saturday, October 22nd.
This special event will take place in the Children’s Library with each session including an interactive workshop to give kids a chance to sing with the masters of opera.

“Drawing on the classics of opera, the whole experience will bring children on a journey through the ages, showcasing some of the classic greats along with more contemporary offerings from local and national composers,” they told us.
“Each child will have the opportunity to see both the performance and also have an insight into what opera is all about, allowing them to see music books or scores of some of the greatest operas ever composed.”
The event is completely free of charge and there’s no need to register, just go along to one of the three sessions on the day, Saturday, October 22nd at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm.
