They say your eyebrows are supposed to look like sisters, not twins.

I’m the first to admit that there have been days when my eyebrows would barely have passed as distant cousins.

Like most Irish women, I spent most of my teens with my trusty tweezers in hand, maniacally plucking out all but a thin, wispy squiggle of hair to create the permanently ‘surprised’ look we all thought was the height of glamour during the Noughties.

By the time the full brow came into fashion, my eyebrow reserves had been so decimated that it took years of whinging and Vitamin E oil capsules to nurse them back into life… and even now there are spots I’ve accepted will never grow back.

Brows are big business; I know this because I own pencils of all sizes and ‘natural’ shades (debatable), brow gels, powders, miniature brushes, eyebrow mascara, tints and various thingies to apply them with.

What I was really looking for was a way to fill in my brows fast with zero faffing about. And this week, the very thing landed on my desk.

The solution

Two Cork women, beauty therapist Therese O’Leary and business developer Susan O’Neill, have invented a genius little brow kit that is practically foolproof.

The idea was hatched when Therese began searching for a way to help her sister, who was experiencing hair loss while going through chemotherapy for cancer. With no quick, easy solution to be found, Therese invented the Blinks ‘n’ Brows ID Brow Tool, an easy-to-hold stencil with two brow shape templates and a waterproof mineral powder.

You place the tool over your eyebrow, dip the brush in the powder, sweep once across the brow in each direction and that’s it; you’ve got a neat, natural looking brow that lasts all day.
