Turn your dog into an excellent running buddy at this weekend workshop

Looking for a loyal and dependable exercise buddy?
The perfect companion could be sitting right next to you (or chewing a bone in his basket).
An upcoming outdoor workshop this Sunday, January 19th, 2020 will give Cork pet owners all the information necessary to try Canicross, an outdoor sport defined as cross country running with your dog attached to you.
Organised and led by Pawsitive Fitness, the Canicross workshop will cover the basics, including how to choose the right equipment and how to develop a running technique with a dog.
Participants will get a primer in how to teach commands and how to get your dog running out in front as you set out on a run and there will also be plenty of practical work as the group hits the trails to work on technique.
You can also expect tips on hydration and exercises that will keep dogs (and humans) strong for the trails.
“All dogs can run Canicross, the only requirement is a dog that loves to run and him or her being able to manage a 5km run.” say Canicross Ireland. “We’ve even had Chihuahuas compete with us!”
The workshop begins at 9.30am on Sunday, January 19th. Tickets are €22.20 here.
