Tucked above the Grand Parade, this dreamy new salon is a hair stylists’ passion project

Ready to cheat on your regular hairdresser?
If you’ve been practising ways of saying ‘It’s not you, it’s me!’ into the mirror, this might tempt you into making the move.
An intimate new hair salon has opened in the city centre, offering a quiet space to reassess what you’d really like from your ‘do.
Ines Olivia Milo has just put the finishing touches to her first solo salon; a dreamy, light-filled studio on the first floor at No. 32, Grand Parade.
“I began my hairstyling journey almost 10 years ago right here in Cork city.” Ines told Yay Cork.
“Before entering the hair industry, I was dedicated to dance. I have always enjoyed many forms of self-expression and creativity not just dancing but also painting, DJ-ing and designing hair accessories and jewellery.
“I felt like it was time for me to focus on a new challenge, my hairstyling career, and I chose to move forward on that path.”
Having gained experience in various different salons over the years, Ines decided the time was finally right to open her own business; a warm and welcoming city salon inspired by her individual style.
“I wanted to create something different, a studio salon. I set out to connect the idea of what my dream hair studio would look like with different parts of my interests and passions. I wanted to share my love of art and music and nature with my clients.” she said.
Ines hopes the salon will offer visitors a brief escape from everyday life.
“We live in a busy world full of noise and I believe we need self-care now more than ever,” Ines explains.
“I have created this space for peacefulness, safety and creativity. A place where everyone can feel comfortable to relax and retreat. It’s been a labour of love and I’m so excited to share this passion project with clients; old and new.”
Bookings are now open through Ines’ new website inesoliviamilo.com and via Instagram @ineshairstylist
