Trust us; The Pavilion’s new Christmas ad will get you right in the feels

The grandad is played by Cork legend Frank Twomey.
And if that wasn’t enough to sell you on The Pavilion garden centre’s gorgeous new Christmas ad, the heartwarming story behind it will do the rest.
The family-run Ballygarvan shop, Christmas store and café has just unveiled a little bit of seasonal magic to enjoy over your work-from-home tea break, all shot locally in Douglas and Carrigaline with local actors by Dog Day Media.
The advert sees a little boy, Oran, making his way to deliver his Christmas gift to his granddad – a teddy bear and a Christmas card with the words “hug this until you can hug ME”.
In a year when so many of us have been separated from family members for extended periods of times, it’s filled with all the feelings of 2020: loneliness, gratitude, joy and love.
Have a look for yourself:
“The aim of this video is to raise awareness of local retail and to encourage people to shop local over Christmas. Shopping locally will help our communities recover and remain vibrant into 2021 and beyond.” says Charlie O’Leary, who opened The Pavilion following his graduation in Horticulture in 2000.
The Pavilion has remained open online and for in-store pickup, throughout Level 5 restrictions so you can pick out your own special something for a special someone via their website until they reopen.
