If you dream of heading off to explore the world in 2018, a visiting travel blogger could show you how it’s done… on a shoe string budget.

Croatian ex-stockbroker Tomislav Perko, the man behind one of the most popular TedX talks of all time, is in Cork tomorrow to share his travel secrets and chat about how he turned his passion for seeing new places into a career.

After finding himself broke broke because of the financial crisis in 2008, Tomislav hit the road in search of adventure and turned it into his home, using alternative ways of traveling – hitchhiking, couch surfing, working/volunteering – to get around and get by.

Incredibly, using these clever methods, the Zagreb native managed to tour more than 40 countries, from Kenya and Peru to Iran and Pakistan.

Now the author of two best-selling books, Perko’s Ted Talk ‘How to travel the world with almost no money’ has been viewed almost four million times.
