Brought to you by the Imperial Hotel.
It’s perched on one of Cork’s most Christmassy streets.
So it’s no surprise that the handsome Imperial Hotel is pulling out all the stops to kick off the festive season in style, and this year the celebrations will have a sustainable twist.
It might be steeped in over 200 years of history and tradition, but the Imperial has a thoroughly modern outlook when it comes to the environment.
To celebrate Sustainability Month and the hotel’s new Eco-label from Green Hospitality, the new festive menu at Thyme at Seventy Six on the Mall will showcase all the delicious seasonal produce supplied by local farms, small producers, and specialist growers.
Executive Head Chef, Jerome Joyce is working with a vast array of homegrown suppliers all over the county, from the English Market and Ballycotton Seafood to Tom Durcan and the world-renowned Fingal Ferguson’s Gubeen Smokehouse, to name but a few.
If you’re looking for a vegan-friendly spot for those long and luxurious Christmas lunches and decadent dinners with friends, Thyme’s new vegan options will be a thrill for plant-based diners. Among the dishes to try first, there’s a mouthwatering vegan sharing platter, a tasty portion of Sesame Cauliflower Wings, the Thyme Gardeners Pie, and a hefty Spinach & Avocado burger.
Call Thyme for reservations, Monday to Sunday from 5pm ’til late, on 021 4274040.
Pssst… look out for the * symbol on your menu for an opportunity to help out a local charity – you can even add ‘invisible fries’ to your order as a fun way to give back.
Seasonally Sustainable: A Ballroom Christmas Market
On Sunday, November 21st, 2021 you can follow your nose past the hot chocolate stand outside The Imperial Hotel, where their busy elves will be enticing visitors to visit a pop-up Sustainable Market.
Hot choccy in hand, venture into the ballroom between 12pm and 4pm where you’ll be treated to live music while you browse the stalls of local craftspeople, artisan makers and foodies.
The best bit? The Imperial Hotel will be donating all the money from the market to Cork Simon.
