3 bars where you can nab a FREE cocktail to mark International Poitín Day (if you dare)

It’s Ireland’s most infamous spirit.
And if you’re brave enough to indulge in a little illicit poitín drinking, three Cork bars will be serving complimentary cocktails to punters on International Poitín Day, this Thursday, November 18th, 2021.
Mad March Hare, the award-winning Irish poitín triple distilled in small copper pot stills in West Cork, is celebrating International Poitín Day with the release of the world’s first poitín focused bitters, the perfect complement to its signature Mad March Mule serve.
On Thursday, venues across Ireland will be serving complimentary Mad March Mules from 6pm-7pm for customers to toast International Poitín Day and the original Irish spirit.
Here in Cork, you can raise a glass at Cask, Atlas, and the Shelbourne Bar.
The bitters are the result of a collaboration with Dublin’s Off the Cuffe bitters to create small batches of bitters, made from a specially blended mix of hand-selected herbs and spices to give their signature serve the kick it deserves. The bitters are made exclusively to complement the Mad March Mule cocktail, based on a classic Moscow Mule and best served with premium Irish mixer Poachers Ginger Beer with Irish Chili, lots of ice and a squeeze of lime.
If you can’t (or won’t) paint the town red on Thursday, you can nab a bottle of Mad March Mule Poitínand bitters via celticwhiskeyshop.com.
