To Douglas Street, for some spring-y St Brigid’s Day crafts with the kiddos

Imbolc marks the beginning of spring.
Unlike the rest of Europe which celebrates at the beginning of March, the Irish welcome the change in season in early February.
On Douglas Street, the folks over at Nano Nagle Place are hosting two special family-friendly events to celebrate St Brigid’s Day this year. The first event, which takes its inspiration from Brigid’s most famous miracle, takes place from 1.30pm – 2.30pm and participants are invited to help create a collaborative St Brigid’s Day cloak using Celtic templates and festive colouring.
If you’ve forgotten how to make the Saint’s signature symbol, later in the afternoon facilitator Ellie Donovan will be showing you the best techniques to make the famous reed cross at a drop-in workshop from 3pm – 5pm.

Both events are free with no registration required and suitable for all ages and take place on Wednesday, February 1st in Nano Nagle Place.
