An upcoming bus tour is inviting locals of all ages on a tour along the River Bandon, stopping off at points of interest along the way.
Led by Bandon Environmental Action Group, the tour takes place on Saturday, February 4th, 2023
“Join us for a journey like no other – a tour along the River Bandon with speakers Liam Murphy (This Is Bandon), Simon Harrison (Lecturer, School of Biology, Earth and Environment, UCC) and Jason Nash (Environmental Consultant).” the group announced.
“Share stories of the river’s history and culture, flood relief efforts, the water’s inhabitants, and the lives dependent on it. Experience all aspects of the river up close and personal.”
The group will meet at Glasslyn Road (outside Kellehers Topline Hardware) on Saturday, February 4th and the bus departs at 10am and returns at 2pm (booking here).

“We will head west as far as Dunmanway before heading back to Bandon, incorporating stops along the way,” they added.
Participants are encouraged to wear suitable clothes to stay warm and dry (wellies or boots are a must) and bring a packed lunch and a keep-cup for a coffee stop in Ballineen/Eniskeane.
The tour is funded by Lawpro and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Communities Water Development Fund but a €10 contribution towards the bus rental is appreciated.
