Tickets are now on sale for a unique event on the ROOF of Blackrock Castle Observatory

Listen up, music-loving space fans.
Three artists have collaborated on a unique sound installation set to be staged on the roof of the Blackrock Castle Observatory.
Notes to a Star ‘A Conversation with Beethoven and Shakespeare’ created by Regina Crowley and Gabriela Mayer, and featuring Eanna Hardwicke will run from June 4th – 6th, 2021.
“This sound installation explores a creative dialogue between fragments of piano music and dramatic text, inviting the audience into a ‘listening oasis’ on the open terrace of the Blackrock Castle.” say the creators.
Cool, right? But there’s more… once the playing has finished, and the voices are silent, the notes will continue.
“As part of this very special event, the Blackrock Castle Observatory will encode and beam this show to a distant pair of stars – Bran and Tuiren. It will take 12 years for these sounds to arrive at their destination. Whatever changes 12 years bring us, these notes (sent to us from another time) will continue to play – accompanying our onward explorations.”
Tickets for Notes to a Star are €10 with shows on June 4th, 5th and 6th at 2pm, 6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm. (no 2pm show on Friday 4th) and performances are limited to audience numbers of 15.
