This Zero Waste night class will show you how to repair almost anything

Crafting is the new meditation.
There’s something truly soothing about beavering away at a new activity; it’s a brilliant way to get out of your own head for a few hours and take your mind off the daily grind.
If you’re not the handiest with a glue gun however, a clever new night class can help you master the basics so you can repair and revive almost any item in your home.
A ten-week course called Creative Zero-Waste Arts, Crafts & Repair takes place at St John’s College, Cork City on Thursdays from 6pm-7.30pm.
Kicking off on September 26th, 2019, it’s open to seasoned crafters and absolute beginners alike. Participants will be working exclusively with recycled materials to create high quality patchwork, old fashioned toys, woven pieces and handmade traditional decorations in wood and fabric.
Skills for life
There’s also a class on bookbinding and every student will learn how to make simple repairs, distress, up-cycle and re-use wood, fabric and other materials.
Students are encouraged to ask questions about projects they wish to work on at home and everyone will receive clear, step-by-step handouts to use at home at the end of each class.
The course costs €135 with a €10 discount available on all online bookings made directly with St John’s College here.
