This weekend workshop will teach your kids how to build a ‘fantastic machine’

Attention, parents.
If you’re running out of in-pod-playdates and in need of an activity to see you through the weekend, make sure the laptop is charged.
Cork Science Festival closes on Sunday, with a packed schedule of secretly educations online events (they’ll never know, swear) happening right up until Sunday evening.
Make yourself a large coffee and find a space at the table to join in the fun on Saturday, when there will be a Live Family Science Quiz with Phil Smyth.
Later you can finally get stuck into your book while Mark the Science Guy takes over online for a session on how to build your own fantastic machine using anything you can find at home.
The full schedule of weekend events is available here.

The fun continues on Sunday
On Sunday, children are invited to reconnect with nature with a live reading from the Johnny Magory series of books by author Emma Jane Leeson before the Messy Science Show with Professor Baloney.
“We are having a fantastic Cork Science Festival so far and we were delighted that we could go ahead with such a fantastic online programme this year,” said Mervyn Horgan, Cork Science Festival co-ordinator.
“We received fantastic support this year from participants, schools and our partners and we are so grateful that we could still bring the magic of science to people’s homes.”
