This vlogger’s tour of Cork’s architecture goes seriously awry half way through

By Yay Cork November 4, 2025November 3, 2025

Every city has its quirks.

But one visiting vlogger accidentally happened upon more than one unusual situation during a recent stroll on Leeside.

Roger Bisby, whose plumbing videos amass thousands of views on the Skills Builder YouTube Channel, has recently started a new series of video tours taking in the architecture and buildings in various cities.

One of these, A Walk Around Cork With Roger Bisby, is gaining lots of attention… for all the wrong reasons.

The video tour starts off pleasantly enough. Around the 4.40 mark, things start to go awry.

Strolling along Coburg Street in the sunshine, Roger is distracted from the Victorian Quarter’s beautiful architecture by a situation evolving on the footpath. Two Gardaí are loudly struggling to contain a gentleman who appears to disagree with their decision to arrest him.

They eventually escort the man to an unmarked Garda car.

A little later, Roger finds himself in the charming village of St Luke’s, one of Cork’s most characterful neighbourhoods. Unfortunately, sights such as the eye-catching former Church of Ireland church, designed by Cork architect William Henry Hill, and the lovely octagonal-plan toll booth, built in 1880, are marred by another random encounter.

Roger believes that a passing taxi driver may have been smoking something illegal. The waft leads him to abandon the area altogether.

You can watch it all go down here:

Back in the centre of town, Roger finds himself passing Nando’s on Academy Street in the middle of another emergency.

The video has been enjoy by more than 16,000 people, most of whom saw the funny side:

“That Cork accent of presumably a Garda shouting at around 4:37, with some sprinkling of the ‘F -‘ word , is pure gold. Loved it – captured the genuine essence of Cork (meant it in a nice way) and the wonderful people there. Wish I could visit Cork again some day.” one UCC graduate commented.
