This seaside town is planning a new picnic garden and amphitheatre

There’s always something on in Clon.
And now the town of Clonakilty has announced plans for another new outdoor venue to host its many fun events and family-friendly activities.
This year’s Clonakilty Charity Ball in November will be raising funds for the Children of Clonakilty Project, which aims to create a new picnic garden and amphitheatre on the existing green park next to the new Clonakilty playground.
The plans, which are in their early stages, feature a wooden stage with natural acoustics and seating areas in the green space that currently sits at the entrance gate to the playground.

“We believe that young people and families will benefit greatly from these improvements, and plans are to implement a picnic garden with new planting, magical pathways, and trails, as well as an amphitheatre performance space with extensive seating areas.” the group behind the project announced on social media.
The inclusive new space will offer “a wide range of sensory, recreational and educational benefits for the wider community.”
The Ball takes place on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 at Dunmore House Hotel, Clonakilty and tickets are €100pp, available here.
