This renovated seaside mill house is a DREAMY spot for a post-lockdown family reunion

Itching to get the gang back together?
If you’re hoping to meet up with family and friends for a post-lockdown reunion this summer, now is the time to start planning.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says there’s a ‘good chance’ summer staycations will indeed be on the cards this year and that ‘beers with friends outdoors’ should also be permissible.
Now the race is on to find a large enough venue to house the whole family for a long-overdue get-together… and we’ve found just the one.
The Mill House in Rennies, 20 minutes from Kinsale sleeps 13 guests in five bedrooms, with nine beds and 4.5 bathrooms.
Inside there’s bright kitchen for those morning catch-ups over coffee and a cosy living room for boardgames (there’s a drawer full of those provided).
Every room is drop-dead gorgeous (it once featured on the cover of Home Interiors & Living Magazine) and it’s all just a short stroll from the beach so you enjoy a dip every day before lunch.
The property boasts a stunning patio for kicking back with a few glasses of wine in the evening. There’s also an outdoor beer fridge, a pizza oven and a full barbecue area for grilling your meals al fresco. All you need to do is hit the butchers in Kinsale for all manner of goodies to cook on it.
“This house is beautiful and you get exactly what it says in the description.” said guest, Ingrid, who stayed at The Mill in August 2020.
“There was 13 of us staying for four nights here including seven teenagers. The house offered so much space that we never felt on top of one another. The BBQ and outside seating area was just perfect even kitted out with an outdoor fridge which was super handy. The beach nearby was a great hit and everyone went for a swim each day.”
The Mill is around €800 per night (three night minimum) and sleeps 13 people comfortably. Check out the available dates on Airbnb.
