You can’t bate a proper Sunday roast.
And if you’re worried you won’t be able to get your hands on your usual dinner with all the trimmings during the ‘level 3’ restrictions, fear not; The Beer Garden in Turner’s Cross has got your back.
While the family-run gastro pub, grocery and off-licence has once again been forced to close their doors, laying off 40 staff for the second time this year, the kitchen is open for takeaway.
You can swing by in the morning for a Full Irish or a breakfast bap with the works (cooked fresh and packed to-go) from Monday to Saturday (8.30am – 12pm) or lunch until 3pm.
On Sundays, The Beer Garden’s generous Sunday Roast will be available from 12pm until 4pm, with a choice of succulent roasted meats, veggies and all the trimmings for €10.95 or a roast and dessert for €14.
“How we operate right now will really make a difference to our survival as we have no idea when we will actually be able to reopen.” staff member Megan Sendall told Yay Cork.
“Many of our customers are elderly and eat with us through the week so we knew we had to keep providing proper homemade healthy meals for them. Will be doing these this time with a few changes.”
Ideal for heating up later at home, kids meals are also available and customers will be given a time slot for collection to allow for social distancing. If you want to support local business, you can swing by the shop on Evergreen Road for milk and bread too.
