This pop-up dinner takes place in a timber open-air tasting room in rural Castletownsend

Celebrating something (or someone) special this month?
If you’re on the lookout for a truly memorable foodie experience and you don’t mind a little adventure to get you there, local chef Davitt Conroy and his wife, event planner, Anna have an intriguing invitation for a select group of guests.
The pair, who thrilled diners with a spectacular dinner on a cliff edge in West Cork last Christmas, have just announced their next pop-up: a fish feast celebrating the best of West Cork producers and fishermen over three Sundays in September.
It was this vibrant food community that inspired the pair to relocate from the US to the wilds of the Rebel County to launch the Chef Davitt dining business.
“This dinner series will be held at Sally Barnes award-winning Woodcock Smokery near Castletownsend and will be featuring not only her smoked fish but fish from local fisheries,” Anna told Yay Cork.
“We want to highlight the best of what the sea has to offer while highlighting local fishermen. The menu also features our favourite West Cork growers and producers including Glensallagh Gardens produce.”
The dinner will be held in the rustic setting of The Keep at Woodcock Smokery, a covered outdoor seating area.
Spaces for the pop-up series are limited and the Chef Davitt team are now taking bookings (€100pp) for the following dates: Sunday September 5th , Sunday September 19th and Sunday, September 26th. Vaccine certs required. For enquiries contact Anna on 087 461 1415 or visit chefdavitt.com.
