If an evening devoted to love, fairies and summer dreams sounds like your glass of bubbly, keep Thursday, May 31st free.

A Costume Ball in the style of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is about to take place at Ballinacurra House – and it’s shaping up to be absolutely magical.

The evening, a fundraiser organised by Words by Water to launch the annual Kinsale Literary Festival, will start with canapes and prosecco on the lawn before a three-course dinner.

Cork theatre company Chattyboo Productions will deliver a ‘fast-paced, witty and extremely condensed’ version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream between the courses and the evening will continue with ‘dancing and romancing’ after dinner.

Tickets are €85 per person (group rates of €75pp available) and the dress code is costume or black tie.
