This is what the weather forecast is looking like for St. Patrick’s Day

It’ll be wet and cold for the week.
Now early indications suggest we’ll be needing umbrellas and wellies for the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Friday too.
According to Met Éireann forecasters, it will be a showery Paddy’s Day with “a mix of sunny spells and showers, some of the showers possibly heavy and prolonged”.
At least it’ll be mild; highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees are expected with a mix of clear spells and showers on Friday night and lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees after dark.
In the meantime it’ll be rather cloudy in Cork today with frequent showers, merging to give longer spells of rain at times, with the chance of spot flooding.
“After a mild start, colder air will move in from the north during the afternoon and evening.” said a forecaster.
We can expect top temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees but turning much colder and windier through the evening.
It will be cold and breezy tonight with clear spells and scattered showers, some heavy with hail and thunder. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees will lead to icy stretches developing on some untreated roads and paths too so slow down if you’re out and about in the morning.
