This food truck has some boozy sandwich specials (and a Mac ‘n’ Cheese TOASTIE)

You may find yourself with a beer garden hangover in the coming weeks.
And when you do, there’s only one place to alleviate it if you live in East Cork.
Fred’s Food Truck is open seven days a week at the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, serving a mouthwatering menu of hefty sandwiches designed to satisfy a ravenous appetite.
You can even order up some hair of the dog if you’re a whiskey fan; The Big Feast BLT features Irish smoked bacon in a Jameson glaze, ticked into a soft ciabatta with tomato, lettuce, spring onion, and a dash of sriracha mayo.
The Fred’s Load it Up Sub is also a booze-inspired bite, with slow-cooked pulled pork marinated in Jameson Whiskey glaze, pickled jalapenos, caramelised onion, Carrigaline Cheese, and BBQ sauce.
Toasty fans can opt for a classic ham and cheese or mix things up with a Beef Brisket Grilled Cheese Melt on sourdough, but there’s one decadent menu item that truly deserves your hangover’s full attention: The ‘Mac and Cheese Please’.
Toasted sourdough bread topped with soft and creamy mac and cheese, topped with even more white cheddar, this is a sandwich that’s worth a spin to Midleton for lunch.
All the above are served with pickles and salad. Check out freds_foodtruck for updates.
