This couple left New York to serve pop-up dinners on a Cork CLIFF EDGE

This sounds absolutely magical.
If you’re on the hunt for a truly memorable night out this Christmas (who isn’t?) a brand new dining experience has just opened for booking in one of the wildest locations in Cork.
Local chef, Davitt Conroy and wife Anna have relocated from New York to Schull to launch Chef Davitt, a new business that’s bringing something truly original to the dinner scene on Leeside.
Over four dates in December, Davitt and Anna are inviting foodies to sit down to a meal on a cliff-edge overlooking the rugged Atlantic Ocean.
A five-course, €80 per-person taster menu promises a “true celebration of West Cork’s superb ingredients from land and sea as well as the incredible local fishermen, farmers, growers, foragers and producers”.
You don’t need to worry about the brisk sea breeze either; it’s all served in a pop-up restaurant hosted in a bricks-and-mortar cafe perched on the enchanting Three Castle Head.
Dishes will include ‘Crab Toes and Langoustines at Allihies Beach’ and ‘West Cork Wagyu Beef Short Rib’ and it’s BYOB so you can pack your favourite wine to enjoy with the meal.
Chef Davitt, who is originally from Douglas, spent over a decade creating personalised dining experiences for private clients on yachts chartered across the Caribbean, Mediterranean and East Coast of the US; he spent his later years cooking privately for New York’s elite circle of politicians, artists and business executives.
The Three Castle Head pop-up series aims to give locals a sneak preview of Chef Davitt’s cooking style, which is influenced by his exotic travels and his extensive background in private dining.
The available dates for December are:
- Friday, December 11th
- Saturday, December 12th
- Friday, December 18th
- Saturday, December 19th
Seating will commence from 7pm and a full menu for the event is available here. Contact Anna at 087 461 1415 for reservations. On-site accommodation is available at Three Castle Head if you’d like to make a night of it.
