This Cork hotel just donated €5k to help Rebel Wheelers with new sports equipment

It was a team effort.
Riding high from a recent visit by the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, the staff at Cork’s Imperial Hotel on the South Mall are giving back to the local community by donating €5,000 to Rebel Wheelers Multi Sports Club.
Newly part of the family-run Louis Fitzgerald Group, the Imperial Hotel has an ongoing commitment to sustainable business practice, overseen by their Green Team, which, along with a lengthy list of eco and sustainability goals, also includes fundraising for worthy causes.
To raise the €5,000, activities undertaken by the hotel team included taking part in the Cork City Marathon, participating in a Roll With Rebel Wheelers fundraising event, and featuring an invisible cocktail on the menus.
The proceeds will be put to good use by the club, which is constantly fundraising for new sports equipment and different styles of wheelchairs required for rugby and basketball, which also need to be maintained or replaced as the athletes grow older.
“Rebel Wheelers is a fantastic Cork organisation that we are proud to be partnered with,” said Jazz Glennon, Marketing Manager and member of the hotel’s Green Team.
“We love that they empower young people with a physical disability to enjoy sports. We are privileged to have such a positive relationship with the members and volunteers involved in the club and hope our donation to Rebel Wheelers will go some way to expressing our appreciation of all the fantastic work they do.”
