It’s that time of year again.
If you’re like us, you find it hard to stay motivated in the gym. We’re always looking for fun ways to get the exercise in because, as we’ve come to learn over the years, enjoying a workout makes us more likely to keep it up long after the January hype has subsided.
And for those of you who spent more time on your heads than on your feet as children, this may be just the thing.
Ninjafit is a calisthenics and personal training gym on Tramore Road that focuses on building strength through a whole host of bodyweight exercises.
“Calisthenics is anything to do with your own body weight,” says owner and trainer Aiden O’Connell.
“So pull-ups, push-ups, handstands, hanging off the bars, and plenty of core and leg exercises. I like to think it’s the community atmosphere that makes my place such a great place to workout, everyone encourages and motivates each other, it’s a great place to make friends and everyone chats and has fun during the classes, especially when they come a few times and get to know other members.”

“It’s not the type of class where I shout at everyone to do their exercises. Everyone goes at their own pace and there are different exercises and progressions for everyone.”
Ninjafit also has a fun obstacle course that will put your strength to the test, as well as yearly competitions between members to work towards and fuel motivation.
Our inner child is calling out for a go on the monkey bars already.
