This Cork event combines Mario Kart with a live band – and we need to see it
We gotta see this.
If you thought Mario Kart couldn’t get any more chaotic, think again.
This Sunday, the Marina Market is turning one of the world’s most-loved video games into a live entertainment experience, as Mario Kart Live rolls into Cork for an afternoon of racing, music and plenty of nostalgia.
Taking place from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday, July 12th, the event invites players to jump behind the wheel and battle it out on Mario Kart while a live band performs the game’s iconic soundtrack in real time.

Yes, that means the familiar tunes that have accompanied countless banana peel mishaps, blue shell heartbreaks and photo-finish victories will be played live as you race.
Whether you’re fiercely competitive or just in it for the laughs, organisers are encouraging people to grab their friends, choose their favourite character and get ready to hit the virtual track.
The event is free to attend and adds another fun, family-friendly experience to Marina Market’s packed summer line-up.
