This Cork couple are selling their lovely seaside home in a €20 raffle

By Katie Mythen-Lynch May 20, 2021May 20, 2021

Here’s a novel way to get a leg up the property ladder.

An East Cork couple are raffling off their family home in the seaside village of Whitegate.

Anne Marie and Jason Flanagan have lived in the three-bedroom, three-bathroom property for more than a decade, but have recently decided to move back to Roscommon to be near family.

Now they’re selling 20,000 tickets to win the house, complete with a sea-view deck, mortgage-free… and all it’ll cost you is €20 per ticket. to be in with a chance to pick up the keys.

“Myself and my husband fell in love with our house and bought our home 13 years ago.” Anne Marie Leahy told Yay Cork.

“I currently work in UCC Dental Hospital and my husband is in construction. Fast forward 13 years later and we are married with two beautiful daughters and it’s time to move and move closer to family. I’m originally from Roscommon and with grandparents and cousins pining for the smallies we decided to make the big move.”

With the decision made and house viewings on hold due to Covid-19, the couple came across the website Rafall.com.

“After lots of research and legal advice, we found that this was a safe way to sell, and the positivity it would bring was too good of an opportunity to not give it a try,” explained Anne Marie.

“With the housing crisis we have at the moment if we could make someone’s dream come true then it will be worth all the hard work.”

“If we don’t reach the target, then as per Raffalls terms, the draw will still take place and the winner will receive 75% of the ticket revenue as compensation… we receive nothing, however, we do get to keep our house and will take a more traditional step in selling it,” she added.

Tickets are available now on Rafall.ie and the draw will be made on Sunday, July 11th, 2021 at 3pm or when the last ticket is sold (whichever is sooner).
