This company will build you a stunning mirrored tiny home for €85k

Thinking outside the box when it comes to housing?
Not everyone wants to live in a three-bed semi attached to a giant mortgage. In fact, for those of us who can get by with a minimal amount of ‘stuff’, tiny home living is looking more and more attractive.
But embracing the tiny home lifestyle doesn’t have to mean missing out on luxury.
ÖÖD is an Estonian design company known for its luxury tiny houses, offices, cabins, and saunas… and they can deliver one of their magnificent creations right here in Cork.

ÖÖD mirror houses can be found in hidden gem locations worldwide, allowing guests to experience natural surroundings like the Mexican jungle, Norwegian fjords, Icelandic volcanoes, and Estonian pine forests. Lots of these exclusive retreats are available for unique stays through ÖÖD Hotels, connecting nature lovers with immersive and luxurious accommodations (check out this one in Northern Ireland), but if you have the funds, a suitable site and the right planning documents, you could have one all to yourself.
The price? €84, 900 for the basic model, although that doesn’t include delivery.
What about planning?
Yes, there are planning challenges to surmount. ÖÖD representatives will send the necessary drawings of the prefab units, but the clients must contact with their local planning office to apply for any necessary permits.
If you can swing all that, these stunning structures make for a unique tiny home. Inside, there’s an open plan living area with bed, kitchenette and dining area plus a bathroom.

Insulated glass combined with radiant floor heating will keep you warm on the coldest winter morning, while three walls of floor to ceiling windows and a minimalist design makes the living area feel spacious and provides an immersive nature experience.
The mirror house can be installed in a day. Once it arrives, you just connect to electricity, water and sewage and you’re good to go.
Oh and while you’re at it,. you can also add a mini sauna for €19,900.

The team behind these unique structures are confident they are built to last generations: “The full steel frame and industrial mirror glass facade are the best in the industry. No other tiny house will outlast this one.”
What about the birds though?
It is true that birds often can’t recognise windows or mirrors and therefore might hurt themselves.
“To prevent that from happening, we use UV film stickers on all of our ÖÖD houses.” say the ÖÖD team.
“These stickers reflect ultraviolet light, which birds can see but humans can’t. When light reflects, birds understand that there is an object on their way and they’ll change direction. Our goal has always been to blend into nature without hurting it.”
