This Coal Quay brunch spot is all grown up (and their new night menu is a must-try)

Their brunch menu was one of the best in town.
Now Coal Quay eatery 51 Cornmarket is celebrating two years in business by taking a big leap and opening its doors in the evening instead.
Owners Anne Zagar and David Devereaux, both talented chefs, have unfurled a tempting new dinner menu available from Wednesday to Saturday.
“51 is growing up and about to really get fun!” said David.
“There have been some solid favourites that we will never forget, like the Brunch Chips, Pollox Boi and of course that Bacon & Butterscotch Frenchie. As we look forward to our next chapter we are brimming with excitement at what we get to create next.”

The opening menu features snack plates of Tempura & Tartare with horseradish and dill oil, Aged Angus Striploin served with bearnaise and crispy onions and a beautifully summery Tempura Courgette Flowers with tomato concasse, herb mayonnaise and tomato consumé.
One of the perks of the new night service is a thoughtfully curated wine list the couple have put together with the help of local experts such as Brian O’Connor of Brian’s Wines.
The cellar is stocked with exciting natural, organic and biodynamic bottles (try Méryl and Géraldine Croizier’s Viognier from the Western Rhone Valley or the Judith Beck Rosé) – ideal for enjoying on date night or sharing with friends.
