This chill Yoga session offers a steady beginning to the New Year

January has a habit of arriving like a shouty life coach.
But if ‘new yous’, 5k runs and cold plunges are not your vibe, there is a way to start the year without punishing yourself.
What if you started it gently?
That’s the quietly radical idea behind a new Bhumi Yoga series with Bhumika Singhania starting on January 8th in Glanmire, offering a slower, softer way to ease into 2026 — one that’s about breath, balance and actually being in your body, rather than trying to conquer it before breakfast.
This is not yoga that demands you tie yourself into a human pretzel while pretending you’re calm. Instead, it’s a grounding practice built around slow movement and steady breathing, designed to build strength and awareness without the drama. Think less “January overhaul” and more “January exhale”.

Running every Thursday evening, the sessions are open to all levels, which is yoga-speak for you don’t need to be bendy, enlightened or wearing expensive leggings. You just need to turn up.
The focus is on moving mindfully, finding balance (physical and otherwise), and letting the breath do the heavy lifting — a refreshingly sane approach in a month that usually thrives on chaos.
Set in Riverstown, Glanmire GAA Football Club, the classes offer a chance to pause, reset and start the year with a sense of steadiness rather than self-reproach. It’s yoga as an act of kindness, which frankly feels like the energy we could all use right now.
Classes start 8th January, run from 7pm–8pm, and you can book by sending a DM or messaging on WhatsApp.
