This busy French bakery has a special cake on sale just for January
It’s available in all stores from this week.
Every January, Cork’s Cameron Bakery celebrate a much-loved French tradition with their Galette des Rois, a delicious pastry with an extra surprise.
“Hidden inside the cake is a small charm called a fève.” the team, led by Gwen Perroud, explain.
“The person who finds it becomes King or Queen for the day and wears the crown that comes with the cake. To keep the game fair, the youngest guest traditionally chooses who receives each slice — without looking.
“More than a pastry, the Galette des Rois is a moment of sharing, joy and togetherness, enjoyed with family, friends or colleagues throughout January. A simple French ritual… and a delicious excuse to celebrate a little longer.”
