This boutique Cork hotel hosts an annual morning mushroom hunt

Dig out your wellies.
If hiking around a magnificent country estate in search of edible mushroom varieties sounds like an idyllic Sunday morning to you, pop this in the calendar.
Mushroom experts Maria Cullen and Jim Fraser will be leading a group of guests into the morning mist at Longueville House in Mallow on Sunday, October 7th as part of the hotel’s 17th annual Mushroom Hunt.
The tradition sees Longueville chef and proprietor William O’Callaghan prepare a mouthwatering banquet of autumn mushroom dishes from the day’s harvest – it’s the ideal combination of bracing exercise and absolute indulgence.
Adults’ tickets (€85) include coffee and homemade cookies on arrival, the mushroom hunt and the luncheon with wine. Children’s tickets (under 12s) are also available at €25.
With a 10am kick-off, it’s a fun day out for all the family and ideal for beginners.
