Think you can handle a 2kg beef burger? This Cork spot wants you to try

Disclaimer: We’re not saying this is a good idea.
But if you find yourself in Cork City and you’re the type of person who craves 2kg of beef in one sitting, read on.
At Hungry Hippo, the new burger bar on Courthouse Street, they’ve added a €55 Heavyweight Champion Burger to the menu.
This giant 2kg beef burger patty (for scale, the average large burger weighs around 200g) is stacked with fresh lettuce, crunchy red onion, and tangy pickles, then slathered in oozing melted cheese and smoky barbecue sauce.
It makes the Big Mac look like an hors d’oeuvre.

The Heavyweight Champion burger is served with house-seasoned French fries and beer-battered onion rings in case you need extra carbs with all that protein.
It’s important to note there’s a minimum of 40 minutes cooking time for this item so reservations are strongly recommended if you’re heading in to try it out.
Do note, they’re fine with sharing (the burger and its €55 price tag) so you don’t have to tough it out and devour the whole thing on your own, unless that’s your thing.
