These lovely arts events will all take place outdoors in a city courtyard

We’ve been cooped up long enough.
Now a series of inclusive arts events aims to entice audiences into the great outdoors throughout April with a fascinating programme of live performances, creative workshops, and inspiring talks curated by Ciara Rodgers.
Cork Printmakers, Lavitt Gallery, and Backwater Artists Group will open their courtyard to the public at Wandesford Quay, Cork City as part of In the Open|Faoin Spéir.
A former warehouse located by Clarke’s Bridge in Cork City, the Wandesford Quay complex was built around 1840 and restored in 1995. It’s an atmospheric setting and should prove the perfect venue for the month’s events.
Some highlights include:
- Your Breath by Sara Hernandez, April 15th
Your Breath is a new dance piece created and performed by dancer Sara Hernandez with live music composed by cello player Ilse de Ziah. A creative dance workshop with an invited cohort of 12 participants will be open to all levels with no prior experience required. The performance (6pm) is open to the public too and limited free tickets for the workshop can be booked on Eventbrite.
- World Circus Day, April 16th
On World Circus Day, the Circus Factory takes over the courtyard for their kids’ Super Star Circus and Evening Cabaret. Bring your kids, or borrow some kids, and expect amazing tricks, monumental failures, and even a chance to try out your own hula hoop skills. Tickets (from €5) can be purchased here.
