There’s an epic beer pong tournament happening in The Old Oak

Have you got a knack for potting ping pong balls?
If you were hailed the beer pong champion of your college class, there’s an opportunity to give your skills another airing in town this week.
The Old Oak on Oliver Plunkett Street is hosting the Ultimate Game of Beer Pong on Thursday, January 16th, 2020, with prizes on offer for the winners throughout the night.
In case you’re unfamiliar (maybe you spent your college years actually studying) beer pong is a drinking game in which players throw a ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing it in a cup filled with beer on the other end.
If a ball lands in a cup, the contents of that cup are consumed by the other team and the cup is removed from the table. The first team to eliminate all of their opponent’s cups is the winner.
Entry is free and a practice round begins in the bar at 8pm, with the real competition kicking off at 9pm.
It’s a good excuse to make a night of it too; there’s live music from Twisted Ninja at 10pm and a DJ starts at 12pm.
