There’s a sweet little Egg Hunt and picnic happening in Beaumont Quarry

If the weather cooperates, this’ll be lovely.
A local nature group is organising a Picnic and Egg Hunt in Beaumont Quarry on Sunday, April 2nd.
Cork Nature Network is celebrating the arrival of spring by inviting local families to pack up their lunch, head out into the great outdoors and hunt for chocolatey treats from 11am to 2pm.
In collaboration with the Cork City Council and Beaumont local residents committee, Cork Nature Network has been working in Beaumont Quarry since 2015 with the aim of protecting the site for conservation, research, education, and recreation.
As part of this project, they regularly hold events in the quarry to maintain the area and spread awareness about the importance of the site.
“It’s going to be a fun day for the family,” they told us.
“Bring in your own picnic and go for a hunt to find all the signs of spring in the quarry. If you find them all you win a chocolate easter egg.”
There’s €5 charge for each person participating in the hunt, the payment for which needs to be made in advance of the event.
“It will serve as a booking on the day and ensure there is an egg for you once the hunt is complete.” the CNN spokesperson added.
