There’s a pop-up open-air Book Market coming to the Grand Parade this month

Bring a bag, bookworms.
Literature lovers (and anyone who enjoys a delightful afternoon spent browsing pages) will be making plans to swing by a pop-up Book Market landing right in the heart of the city later this month.
Produced by Goldiefish Markets, the open-air Book Market will be setting up on the Grand Parade on Saturday, April 27th as part of Cork World Book Fest, now in its 20th year.
The six-day extravaganza will see 40 events with over 100 writers in multiple venues across the city from Tuesday, April 23rd to Sunday, April 28th and incorporates, as always, UNECSCO World Book Day.
“Expect a showcase of some of the best booksellers from the city and surrounds, great food and family entertainment.” the organisers told us.
Here’s a peek at the set-up from last year:

Patricia Looney, Acting Cork City Librarian, said, “Every April, we look forward to bringing Irish and international writers to Cork. We’re delighted to facilitate events free of charge or at a nominal fee, ensuring they are accessible to everyone.
“There will be discussions on how writers can increase their chances of submitting a successful manuscript as well as several events featuring work in translation, including one with Rónán Hession, author of Leonard and Hungry Paul, with his Italian translator Elvira Grassi, currently a Translator in Residence at University College Cork.”
