Listen up, gin lovers.
Gin geniuses’ Blacks, Ireland’s first co-located Brewery & Distillery have teamed up with Ballymaloe House to create an exclusive blend using botanicals from the famous Ballymaloe walled garden.
Ballymaloe Garden Gin features flavours of hand-picked lemon verbena, mimosa, coriander and fennel, as well as myrtle berries (for flavour, but also in loving memory of Myrtle Allen).
The new drink is the brainchild of Darren Murphy of Blacks and Ballymaloe House’s award-winning bar manager Traford Murphy, who worked at the Michelin star restaurant, The Kitchin before returning to Cork in 2018 to take up the position as head bartender for Cask, working under top mixologist Andy Ferreira and later joining the team at Ballymaloe.
The Ballymaloe House / Blacks Gin collaboration will be exclusively available at Ballymaloe House, where Traford has developed three house martinis to perfectly complement its unique blended flavour:
- Classic Gin Martini: Ballymaloe Garden Gin, Vermouth Blend, Lemon Oils
- Ballymaloe Elderflower Martini: Ballymaloe Garden Gin, Vermouth Lustau, Elderflower Cordial, Pink Elderflower
- Tincture Ballymaloe Gin Martini: Ballymaloe Garden Gin, Noilly Prat, Lemon Verbena, Citrus Bitters.
Ballymaloe House restaurant has seven private dining rooms and a new A La Carte menu for a more casual dining experience. Diners will be the first to enjoy Ballymaloe Garden Gin, so book a table on 021 465 2531 or email [email protected] to get in line.
