There are four Cork TV stars in the running for BAFTAs this year

Roll out the red carpet.
The Rebel County will be well represented at this year’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Television Awards, with no less than four Cork stars nominated.
Aherla-born actress and presenter Siobhán McSweeney, Ballintemple star Cillian Murphy, Cobh’s Fiona Shaw, and Bandon’s own Graham Norton have all been shortlisted for gongs on the big night in London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, May 14th.
Murphy is in the running for ‘Leading Actor’ for his role as Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders, while McSweeney is nominated for best ‘Female Performance in a Comedy Program’ for her run as Sister Michael in the hit comedy Derry Girls.
Graham Norton will be battling it out for best ‘Comedy Entertainment Programme’ for the Graham Norton Show on BBC, while Cork’s Fiona Shaw is in the running for ‘Supporting Actress’ for her role in the American science-fiction action-adventure series Andor on Disney Plus.
